There are a few times of year that are good to visit malone new York. One is in the summer when the Franklin County fair is going on as you can see both the fair and Almonzo Wilder's homestead which is just a few minutes down the road. The Franklin Fair is also mentioned in Laura Ingalls Wilder's Farmer Boy book which makes in neat to read the book then visit the homestead and the fair. Also just an hour or so down the road is Lake Placid site of the winter olympics, in the summer you can ride the ski lift and visit all the sites.
Now in the winter we have Mount Titus ski area which in itself would make a great weekend get away.
There are several hotels Malone which would make for a good stay, most of which have breakfast restaurant nearby to them. Now for dinner you could eat at either Hostlers or Gallagher's both of which have decently priced food. |
